Pet tit, City Valuer, applying for increased remuneration in view of the high cost of living. He stated Chat the amount paid him was very low compared with what was paid in other cities of about the same size. 'He enclosed a letter from the value*and returning officer at Wanganui, wh«stated that he received £225 per annum ; also a telegram" from the Town Clerk, New Plymouth, -who stated that the payment there was £325 every third ' year and £25 per annum.—Referred to Finance iCommittee. Jennens as to footpath, Grove street : That the footpath on the south side be formed from Milton street as far as the eastern sit.e of Jennens shop, provided th e fences el present not up to the street be moved, on to the boundary, (l'his proviso refers to Westley's and part of the- adjoining frontal).
