LABOUR DAY CARNIVAL.

A combined meeting of Bctaders an«l members of the Red Cross Committed was held at the H;B. room* last •night, to make arrangements for the.function, in the Provincial Grounds on Monday, the 22nd inst. (Labour Day), in aid of the Red Cross-, "Our Day" -special appeal. There was a good . attendance., and a number of promises of help were received. Mrs W. Lock was voted: tothe chair. ■ . ~.. >,. On the motion of Mr Jones, seconded by Mr E. Allan, it was decided to. hold a' chair and billy-cart procession. The mover submitted to the meeting a ■chair of his own design which readily lent itself for decorative purposes, and me* with much approval.
