POLITICAL DEMANDS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ■ . RO3TE, May 18. The Socialist party, in ..a manifesto, demands the the Senate, the right of Parliament "to meet when it chooses, universal suffrage for both sexes, unrestricted- freedom with regard to strike propaganda, direct Government control of foreign policy, agrarian reforms and progressive taxation. The Giornale d 'ltalia characterises the manifesto as unpatriotic and calculated to sow discord.'
