The following resolution was put to the congregations assembled in the Salvation Army halls in 94 centres throughout the Dominion on Sunday, May 13th. an- 1 carried unanimously, says the New Zealand Times:— "We pray the governing authorities of Xew Zealand will immediately introduce legislation to stop the sale °f all alcoholic liquor in public houses, or hotels, after 6 p.m., and to bring in other forms of restriction that will l«;id to a decrease in its consumption. This appeal is made in the interests of national strength, honour and safety. At a time when all nations are taking drastic measures to deal with the evil from a standpoint of economy and efficiency to the. winning of the war, we regret that our Dominion lags to the disappointment of the community .is a whole."
