(Rec. 9.20 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. News has been received from the ca'ble office at Gomen, New Caledonia, that the island was visited by a devastating hurricane. At- Qnaco of the houses were demolished. „ i The cable station at {Somen was destroyed, and the instruments were fitted up in the open. air. . _ ■ So far there has been no Joss of bte.
