We're having lovely weather for it, and any little anxieties we have over high explosives aa-e calmed by the soothing fumes." The boys received this lot of cigarettes and tobacco in the trenches, and one and all are most grateful for the gifts. speak of the motives that prompt;. edi the gifts and also of the pleasure derived from the "smokes." Hundreds of postcards received during the war have stated that the "smokes" arrived when the boys were "clean out," so it can be seen that the gift business is lot overdone.

Every sixpence sent to the Evening Mail means 30 cigarettes and 2 ounces of tobacco for some soldiers at .the front. Gifts can be sent to any individual in the- Army or Navy provided the address is fully stated. _ Not one pennv is deducted by the Mail for the working expenses of the Fund; As previously stated, the reason' why such wonderful -value is obtained is because the British Government remits: the duty and the War Office and' the Admiralty carries the good's .without charge.
