COUNTER-ATTACK NORTH OF THE SOMiIE REPULSED. (Australian and N.Z. <Cable Association.) PARIS, July 31. A comirmnique states that the Germans continue to counter-attack northward of the Somme. Wo repulsed all attacks at Hem Wood and Monaccu Farm with serious losses. A violent artillery duel continues at Thiaumont and Fleury. Our abators bombed -military factories ! at Thionville and railway stations at Conflans and Audun-le-Roman and bivouacs at Etain. SITUATION UNCHANGED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Rec. We repulsed an attack at Maurepas and drove back the French advance at Monaeu farm and destroyed positions nort h - westward of Fleury/ The enemy bombed -Com-mines and other places in" our rear a villi no important damage. There were numerous civilian victims.
