OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN

CHRISTCHURCH, July 31
The Grand Jury to-day laid a unanimous recommendation before Mr Justice Denniston that, in view of the fact that offences against children appear to be on the increase, the authorities should take action by which accused persons should be detained in custody under inspection by doctors, and when they were incurable the authorities should consider the advsability of operation.
