Mr J Porter Harris this afternoon paid over £2OOO insurance on the Alexandra Home in connection with the policy held in the Norwich TJmon Office. SILVER BULLET CANNONADE. Something unique in .entertainments is to be held in connection with Rangers" at Richmond this evening. For some time past the promoters have been getting togetlier a very line collection of waxwork studies, and have secured the services of an expert showman, who will explain and tell of the wonder.-, and mvsteries ofi the figures m tiuo stvle "The second part, entitled Magic and Mirth," is a very clever performance by Mr Lints, who is an expert at juggling, club swinging, etc., and a, very 1 interesting performance is promised. Mr Evans will be present, and during -the ! evening will fully explain the Silver Bul- ' let scheme, and all who possibly can should make an effort to hear Mr Evans explanation. A highly successful social and dance was held in the Oddfellows Hall, Wakefield, on Wednesday for .funds for sick and wounded soldiers. A fine_ musicai programme was presented, JVlesdames Anderson and Miss Robinson, and Messrs Low, Price, Noake, McKenzie, and Painton. An able and instructive address by Mr J. S. Evans was well received. 1 The finances of the Guards were well augmented .by the efforts of Mr Low with an auction sale, and J highly amusing mock court. A word of praise is given to Miss Tui Shea for the successful sale of sweets.
