MEETING AT NGATIMOTI. We : are informed that there was a verv large gathering of fruitgrowers at Ngatimoti last night to hear an address by : Mr H. G. Hill, general manager of the .Nelson District Fruitpackers Ltd.' Messrs W. G. Russell .and F. J. H/ill. (Stoke)* also addressed the, gathering, advising the growers to co-operate and amalgamate. Mr J. Guthrie Beatson' presided, and stated that they knew, as growers, that they had to bind themselves together in order 'to save the industry. ' He was quite -satisfied that the N.D.F. was on right lines., and- with the amendments that it was proposed to submit "to the statutoi'y meeting on 2nd, August,, no better -company could' be formed. ■ After Mr Hill had: addressed the meeting, for some time, dealing with -aH the points raised by correspondents ..in the Mail,~ Mr J. Nearly 300 shares were applied for in the room. A special committee was . elected as follows .-—Messrs N. Pownall, L. Cederman. George Beatson, Guthrie Beatson, T; Strachan, and 1 H. Canton.
