( Units® I'b.ess ssocia tion.) OHRISTC KUKCH, May 23. The wheat market is quiet, with a limited quantity offering. Pearl is in request, and any lines on t/he market readily find (buyers at firmer rates. Prime milling wheat is scarce owing to such a large proportion being shrivelled or damaged grain- this season. Oats.—The market is firm in the south in : consequence of a large sale t,o the Government and the fact that merchants are now purchasing to fill forward contract's. There is practically nothing doing locally owing to the short crop this season. There is a scarcity of offerings of potatoes at handy stations,-and only a- few are held in store for forward delivery; £4 10s is offered, and a few sales have been made at that- figure.
