FURNITURE TRADERS
(United Passs Association.) WELLINGTON, May 24. The New Zealand Furniture Traders' Association of Employers Conference opened to-day, Mr Garlick (Auckland) presiding. The report showed that the association's financial position was satisfactory. A resolution was adopted expressing loyalty to the King, congratulations on •the formation of the National Government, and a determination to d-o afl that was possible to help to secure such a result of the war as would enable the Empii'e to dictate the terms of an honourable and lasting peace. It was decided that the headquarters of the Association next year be at Auckland. The next annual meeting is to be held at Cliristchurch. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr W. J. Cousins (Auckland) ; vice-president, Mr E. Collie (Wellington); trustees, ile«srs Parkinson and Clarke (Auckland) ,• hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr W. H. Cooke (Auckland). The conference resumes to-morrow.
