MOTUEKA WHARF RETURNS

EXPORT OF FRUIT.

HUNDRED PER CENT. INCREASE

IN FOUPu YEARS.

Mr P. G. Moflatt, secretary of the Motueka Harbour Board, forwards a, copy of the 39th annual returns of the exports of produce from, the jMotueka wharf, covering the year .eridiijg' 31st December last. —n accompanying statement- savs : "To give an opportunity of making comparisons of increases and decreases in the various parieties of produce shipped, figures for the corresponding period of 1914 are also shownAs fruit is now the chief produce of the Motueka district, it is interefeting to note that for the year 1911 some 133,042 bushels were shipped, while for the V'sar just closed the figures stand at 266,8t50 bushels, or in other words,- since four years ago the increase has been rather 'more than 100 per cent. —the most rapid advance for any previous similar period.
