V, Palmer, of Bright-water, had received a letter fivom their sou. dated a fortnight after ho was reported to ha-ve been killedi at tlio Dardanelles. The Minister of Defence was communicated with, and yesterday the, following reply was received : "Have cabled Alexandria, and am pleased to inform you that 6/320 Hartley Valentine Palmer* was not reported killed) was Hector Vulcan- Palmer, and the regrettably error was duo to tho similarity of intials. A thanksgiving service in connection with tho above willbe held 'in St. Paul's Church, Brightwater, on Sunday evening next, at which. ■the grief of the* relatives of tile fallen man will not- be forgotten.
