GOOD -WORK BEING DONE. The Territorials comprising- C and D Companies of the 12th Regiment, have set-tied down to solid work at the:Tapa■wera camp, and the most is being made of the fine vreather, -which it is hoped ■will continue during the period of camp life. All day is spent in exercises on the property surrounding the camp, the men taking a midday ration, and returning- to camp in time for a hot tea at at 5.30. -The parade state yesterday vas was follows: — A Company fCaptain Hammond ... 108 B Company (Lieut. The all-important commissariat department is working smoothly, and ~ the cooking arrangements are very satisfactory. AH the cooking is jbeing done by a staff or Territorials under a. trained sergeant-cook." The officers' and_ ' sergeants' messes also leave nothing to complain of. • A series of lectures are being delivered nightly to officers and non-coms. vThe social side of camp life is not lost sight of, the C.E.M.S., the Roman, Catholics, and the" Ministers' Association each having a -large marquee well furnished with games,, books, etc. The men. must appreciate the facilities offered in this direction, and take full advantage of the privilege extended to them. Chaplains from the Church of England, the Roman Catholic Church, and the Ministers' Association are in cajnp. Lieut.-Colonel Bryant is in charge of thecamp, with. Lieut. Harley as Adjutant. . - ; _ The daily routine is as follows: Reveille, 6 a.m., hot coffee served; parade, 6.30; breakfast, 7.30.; drill, 9 a_m. ; hbt tea, 5.30; first post, 9.30 p.m.; lights out, 10 p.m. . ■ COLLEGE CADETS' CAMP. A company, 200 strong, of College Cadets, with a section of 15-j?ounders, . left Nelson ,by the ten o'clock train this morning- for Spring Grove, where they will be encamped during Easter. MajSor C. Broad is in' charge .of the camp, while the artillery is under the command of Captain McKay. As a. difficulty has been'experienced in obtaining a sufficient number of tents, the majority of the boys will be billeted in the Spring Grove drill. shed and schoolroom. Today the' cadets will receive general instruction, and to-morrow, being Good Friday, -they will attend a, short camp Church service before commencing skirmishing wlork. On Saturday general platoon work will be the orders for the day." .- The cadets will attend a church parade on Sunday, after, which they will receive technical instruction, such as ; distance judging. Further skirmishing movements will be performed on Monday morning, while the afternoon wfll be "spent in preparation to break the camp, as the cadets will return to to wax by the late' afternoon train. Preparatory to boarding the .train this morning, the cadets were formed up in company order outside the railway station, and their smart soldierly appearance was the subject of many favourable comments by the passers by.
