WELLINGTON", This Day. | The hearing: of the action in which the "New Zealand Times" claims frem the "Dominion" the sum cf £3OOO for alleged libel, was commenced before Mr Justice Hosking and a jury of 12 in the Supreme Court to-day. Sir John Findlav. K.C., in opening the case for plaintiffs, alleged that after the "Dominion" had first of all stated! that the Federation cf Labour stood j for evervthing criminal, it had then charged that the "Times'" was an ahy of the Federation, and that it had supported its policv. Su-h attacks had, counsel contended, injured phuiiiitf s business. The case is nrocecding. Later. Counsel for the defendant raised nonsuit points, the chief of which was that the attack was on articles appearing in the "Times" and not on any member of the staff or en thf* business. The judge reserved his decision, .he matter to be dealt with later.
