NAPIER, March A A fatality occurred this morning at Puketitiri, about 35 miles inland from Nupier, whereby a single man named Allen Nicholson, 23 years old, lo'st his life. Nicholson was driving a traction engine, bringing two truck l<;ads of timIver to town, and when an embankirient about a mile along the road was reached the steering chain carried away, and the engine went over the side, dragging the truck with it into the gully twelve feet deep. The engine turned completely over. Nicholson -was str./tk on the £ead with the draw pin. of a trailer, the iron penetrating the head, and causing instantaneous death .
