Governor declared the ground open, commented upon the prosperj]fcy of toe district, and suggested that national prosperity might be assisted if a; system was, devised by which delegates sent from all districts could asesmble oftener "present, and confer as to how t;he' agricultural and pastoral industry could r "be_ improved. His Excellency presented the.Dannevirke City Scouts' colours, and left after "viewmtf the show. The hunters' competition was won by J.rlt. MacDonal's Betrayer, L. id. Collinson's Major Robb being second. These two "reversed the places in the ladies' hunters' competition. '
