Welsh Disestablishment Bill as a measure of national justice too long delayed. He would have preferred to see the money of which the Church was .dispossessed distributed among all the denominations n Wales. The Primate objected to the. measure root and branch. The Bishop of Oxford demanded dras : tic amendments. He deplored the fact that the Chinch of England could not claim in virtue of its establishment that it really was the Church of the poor. The Archbishop of York said that if anv Church lmd n right, to claim to be a Church of the poor it was the Anglican Church. Bishop Gore's statement did not accord with his experience. EXTRA PAYMENT FOR DOCTORS. VIOLENTLY OPPOSED BY MR HEALY. LONDON, Feb. 13. Ia the House of Commons Mr Tim Healv appealed to the Speaker not to certify the Appropriation Bill providing £IBOO for extra remuneration of doctors as a money Bill, on the ground that- it was overriding the National Insurance Act's provision for a State contiibution of two-ninths- He characterised the Bill as one of the grossest acts of illegality ever perpetrated by a constitutional Government. . Mr Asquith announced that the payment would be regularised by legislation next session. _ . The Speaker promised to examine tne matter before certifying the Bill, which was read the second time.
