PERSONAL MATTERS
■ The death occurred yesterday afternoon, after a painful illness, borne with great fortitude, of Mrs J. H. Nich-Waimea-street. For many years the deceased lady was a constant worker in musical and elocutionary circles, and her energies will be missed for a. long time to come. Mrs Nicholson was elocutionary instructress- on the staff of the' Nelson Girls' College and Cabragh House School, and she was also wellknown as a. private teacher of elocution. As an active worker in connection with the Suter Art Gallery Mrs Nicholson did much to forward the interests of the Society. Very general sympathy will be extended from a large circle of friends to Mr ,T. H. Nicholson and to the daughter. Mrs W. Lawrence Scott, of Shillong, India.
