-PROVISION i-OR MEDICAL EXAMINATION. _ Regulation as to the medical and physical examination of public school children are gazetted, as under : .1. The head teacher of amy public school, or any teacher deputed by him. may make such medical anj physical examination of the pupils of the school •as is required to supply the information hereinafter referred to, and may require the parent or guardian of any such pupil to give all reasonable information that may be necessary in pursuance of or in connection with such medical or phy si ca 1 exami nation. 2. (a) The information to be supplier! with regard to every pupil shall be in respect of the following matters :—Class —note if backward ; Attendance—if irregular, give cause ; . Height (in centimetres) Weight (in kilograms) ; Chestiniieasurement (in centiimetras) —inspiration, expiration ; Sight—right eye" left eye; Hearing—right ear, left ear; Breathing; Teeth: Glands, (b) The following items of the personal 'history of every .pupil shall also be ;nipplie < ] by the parent or guardian of that child:— (1) As to whether the pu.pjl hAs suffered from any of the following illnesses; and, if so, what was the age of the pupil at the time r>f such illness : measles, whooping cough, chicken-pox, scarlet-fever, mumps, diphtheria, rheumatism, (its, any other illnesses or defects; (2) any exceptional feature in child's behaviour or progress: (3) Any consurrption in the family; (4) The occupation of the father or mother, or both ; (5) As to whether the pupil works before or after school hours, and, if so, at what occupation. 3 (a) Any such (male [teacher may make such medical or physical examination as that hereinbefore prescribed in lespec.t of any boys in the school: (b) Aiiv such female teacher may -make such medical or physical examination in resoect of any girls in the school, or in of any boys who are under 10 years of age.
