FAMILY WIPED OUT
BUTCHERED TO DEATH WITH AN AXE MOTHER AND FOUR CHILDREN. SUICIDE OF THE FATHER. (Press Association.; —Copyright.) (Received 8.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A tragedy is reported from Kerviang. The bodies cf Mrs Andrews (wife of a dairyman) and four children, whose ages ranged from three to nine, were found in a bedroom with their heads frightfully battered. Andrews' body was found in the k'it-S chen. shot through the heart. Andrews was of a. deeply religious temperament, and was a steward of the Methodist Church. He had been suffering from depression following influenza, and anxiety regarding monetary matters. There were evidences that he killed the family with an axe, and then shot himeelf.
