SUFFRAGETTES MAKE ANOTHER RAID AN ALBERT HALL DEMONSTRATION. JPrkss Association. —Copyright.) LONDON, Nov. 6. The National Union of Suffrage So-, cieties held a demonstration at the Albert- Hall. A letter was read from Lord Ha Wane, in which he expressed the conviction that ■nothing could keep back the cause of wottanhood suffrage. .Recent- events were irrevelant to the merits of the controversy. He hoped the House of Commons underrated the folly of-a few fanatics. " _ , - Earl Grey telegraphed his sympathies. Suffragettes made a window wrecking Taid in Oxford and Bond-streets. Two of the offenders were arrested. As a. protest against the defeat of Mr. Philip Snowden's women's suffrage amendment to-the Home Rule Bill, suffragettes smashed the windows of the Insurance ..Commissioners' office. Numerous arrests were made.
FINES AND IMPRISONMENT. (Received Nov. 7, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 6. Fines were imposed on some of the suffragettes who smashed windows in Bond and Oxford streets, with a fortnight's imprisonment in default. Others were remanded owing to the seriousness" of the damage.
