Acting on the strength of a cable message from, her father, the detectives have taken under their charge a young lady who arrived by a recent steamer from New Zealand, with the object of returning her to parental control. The story published is that the lady came to Sydney to meet a younc gentleman who arrived by an earlier boat, the couple intending to proceed to San Francisco io get married.
