SREEN ISLAND GOAL STRIKE. A SETTLEMENT EFFECTED. (PitESS Association:—CiatYhlrfttt.) DUNEfHN. April 18. Tile dispute between the miners and CliriiMie Bros., arising out of the corulilion of trucking roads in the latter's mine at Green Island, was settled today. The miners asked'that the condition of the tracks be improved, or that additional truckers be put on, or a crosscut driven. The owners started to improve the tracks, hut the miners refused to wmk until the work was completed. This has now been done, and at a meeting of the I nioii to-Uight it was decided that the men resumv Work in the morning, having got the assurance of the mine manager that the men working on one of the headings, in regit rd to the track of which they are not certain, will be given other places. WORK RESUMED AT LITHGOW.

The effects of the British coal strike are being felt in Sydney. Fifty boilermakers have been dismissed from the Government dockyards owinjj to the absence of sufficient iron of tile character required.
