WRECKAGE AT THE GREAT

BARRIER. (Unii-ed Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 10. Part of the transon of a yacht bearing tho name Edna was washed ashore on Great Barrier Island. There is a small craft of this name belonging to a Ponsonbv yachtsman. whose name is not ascertainable. Indications point to a mishap in. the recent stormy woatlier. Later. Advice was received by the Collector of Customs to-day that a portion of a yacht, or fishing boat, comprising the transom bearing the name of "Edna, Auckland." had been washed ashore- at TryphenoS on Great Harrier Island. The wreckage, in all probability, is from the fishing smack Edna. which has been engaged in the fishing trade for some months. She is owned by J. Gallagher, of Parnell. who left early on Monday morning for Great Barrier to follow his usual occupation, and has not been heard of since. Tho weather in the Hauraki Gulf has been boisterous lately and possibly the litti:> craft was blown ashore and went to nieces. THE EDNA A TOTAL WRECK. AUCKLAND, This Day. The fishing yacht Fdna was wrecked at Pigeons, and is a total loss. She was driven ashore by a heavy sea. The owner, Gallagher, was the only man on board. He was rescued by a scow.
