HOUSE RANSACKED BY ARMED MEN. (Pitess Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 7. Another daring burglary is reported, this time at- the residence of Russell, a well-kndwn jockey, at Kensington. Russell's brother-in-law was awakened early this morning by a tap on the forehead, and saw three armed men grouped round his bed, and a fourth standing outside th e window. They demanded money, and ransacked the room, securing about £3O in money and jewellery. They then went into Russell's room, and covering him with revolvers, made a similar demand. Russell handed over £4O, his winnings at the races. The intruders carried electric lights and thoroughly overhauled the house, regaling themselves with food and drink, reassuring their victims' wives that they had nothing to fear. They offered them fruit and water, and on leaving warned the occupants of the house not' to move or seek assistance, or they knew what to expect. The burglars escaped in a waiting sulky. The police are investigating the matter.
