WELLINGTON, Monday. Anxiety regarding the Himitangi,' which should have returned from the Chathams in the middle of last month increases, but it.is..still felt by experienced shipmasters that if she has gone ashore her crew are quite safe. The Gertie, which has left to search for -the-Himi-tangi, was due at Waitangi last Saturday, and the Amokura should reach there to-night, or-early to-morrow. If the Himitangi's crew is safe they should reach Wellington by the Gertie to-mor-row or on Wednesday. Tli© Prime Minister, in accordance with a request made to him yesterday by the Chatham Island Fishing Company, has communicated with the naval authorities, suggesting that H.M.S. Pioneer, now in Lyttelton, should, also be sent to search for the' overdue vessel, .but so far he has not heard whether she can be spared for that purpose. THE PIONEER LEAVvES IN SEARCIT CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. H.M.S. /Pioneer is leaving to-uaight for the Chatham Islands to assist in the search for the Himitangi.
