Mr. W. J. Moffatt addressed the electors at Clifton Terrace- last- evening. There was a good attendance, including £i iramiher of ladies. Ma-. D. Barnett occupied the chair. The candidate spoke for an hour and a half, and in answer ta- a question said he was not a. Socialist,. but- believed in th B State ownership of railways., mines, oteam- boats, etc., and engaging in works advantageous to the State, but, would treat ev&ry proposal for .extension on its merits. On the 'motion of Messrs A. Dodson and Gibbs, a' very hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Moff att f«r his able and instructive address. The mover and seconded spoke in complimentary terms. The usual vote to the chair terminated the meeting. i •Mr. Moffatt will speak at Tahuna on : night; Richmond, Tuesday; Stoke. Wednesday; the Kank/—jsielson, Thursday. MR BISHOP'S CANDIDATURE. Mr. Bishop wilt address the electors at Brightwater evening at 7.30.
