NELSON KENNEL CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING;

The annual meeting of the Nelson Kennel Club was held at the Chamber of Comimerce Rooms last evening. There was an attendance of about a dozen members, with Mr S. O. Crisp in the •chair.

It was resolved that the cup presented for the last show by Dr. Andrew for Irish Setters be retained by Mr Simmonds, the winner. The cup,, it was stated, was not intended to be a challenge trophy. The N.Z. Cocker Spaniel Club offered a caeh special of a guinea for the best cocker in the Nelson Show, any colour; open to members, of the N.Z. Cocker Club only.—Special accepted with thanks.

It was stated, that the N.Z. Fox Terrier Club and' the N.Z. Setter Club di-o-bably would also, offer specials for the next Nelson Show.

Th«, N.Z. Kennel Club notified that the following challenge classes had been allotted to Nelson :—Scottish, Skye, Bull, and Airedale terriers.—lt was stated that- -noiie of these breeds was bred,- in Nelson, but it was resolved to accept the allocation. The balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance of £9 odd. was adoptedA hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr "VV. S'. Mdlneiy last year's treasurer.

The Secretary stated that 102 members paid, urp last year. The financial' results' of the first year's operations was considered very satisfactory. Officers were elected as follows: — Patron: Mr S. Kirkpatrick: President, Dr. Wright; Vice-Presidents, Messrs, Percy Adams, Dr. Andrew, A. H. Bisley, R. W. Booth, S. C. Crisp, O. . Bamby, W. Rogers; Hon. Solicitor., Mr W S. 'Milner; Auditor, Mr R. Catley; Hon .'V Vet. Surgeon, Mr H. F. West; Committee, Messrs A. Leckie, H. B. Walker, Desgiranges, A. G. Betts, S. M. Galbriitb, Marling, Ward, D. Wells, T. LK>uisson, G- Elliott, T. Hargreaves. Mr West was unable to again accept the .position of, secretary. The Chairman referred it© the good work done Mr West,

The appointment of a Secretary was left to a sub-committee.

A number of trophies were promised for the next show. It was resolved that the annual showbe held on Saturday, Septermber 2nd, following the Marlborough show on Ans*. 29th and 30th.

It was resolved to hold a "ladies' night" in connection with the club, on. a diate to be fixed later.
