The trial of two generals. 21 colonels. 28 explains, and four State Councillor.-: <jt the Moscow Supply Department. on extortion and bribe-taking charges, is proceeding. One of the accused is alleged to have received £27.000.
It is calculated that- one firm during 25 years, paid two million sterling in bribes.
Tho indictment charges the department with accepting soldiers' boots of inferior quality. The soldiers were sold boots which the contractors aouiircd from and re-delivered to the department. It is also alleged that clerks deliberately spoiled samples sunnlied by firms- which did not give bribes.
