INQUIRY BY .SIR. ROBERT STOUT. <A CHARGE OF MURDER. {United Press Association.) MELLINGTOX, Friday. The steamer Maitni. which arrived at Wellington from San Francisco yesterday, brought news that Sir Robert Stout, wlio is inquiring into certain allegations regarding the Cook Islands administration, and trying a resident named Wigmore, charged with murdering a native, has ar•rived at Raratonga. The inquiry lias commenced, but it is not open to the press and! public. It was rc'ported that the persons responsible for the charge forminof the subject of the inquiry declined to give evidence. Sir Robert Stout, nevertheless, is proceeding with the inquiry. The trial of "Wig-more was fixed for June IG.
