THE PARISIAN CASTAWAYS.
NEGLECT BY AN OFFICIAL. 24 HOURS WITHOUT FOOD. A USELESS FOOD CACHE. (Received 10.45 a.m.) PERTH, Wednesday. It is alleged that through the neglect of a Civil Servant the Parisiana's crew had to travel twenty-four hours in the train from Albany to Perth without food as they had no money. The Government directed them to be fed ; but the officer neglected to obey telegraphed instructions. The Premier has decided to draw the French authorities' attention to the fact that the provisions at St. Paul Island, where the castaway crew landed, had not been renewed for 18 years, and that, the biscuits there were mouldy and unfit to eat.
