NAPIER. -Yesterday. Tho musical and elocutionary competitions were again largely attended today, and in every way were successful. The results were : School choirs : Hastings 1. Napier South 2. Solo, for girls under 15 : A. Moulton (Hastings) 1, M. King (Napier) 2. Sol'o for bovs under 15 : W. Monteith (Hastings) 1, F. Tickner (Hastings) 2. Church choirs: St. Matthews' (Anglican). Hastings. 1 : St. Andrew's (Presbyterian), Hastings, 2. Duet: Misses F'. and D. Sutherland. Wanganui (soprano and mezzo), 1 ; Mrs Peter Lewis, Wanganui, and Miss T. Sandilands. Feildiiig (soprano and contralto). 2. Mixed choirs: Napier Choral 1, Hastings Harmonic 2. 'Male Quartette : P. Steed. A. W. Hamilton. \Y. Sparling, and P. W. Tombs (Hastings). 1: W. L. Prime, W. C. Prime, C. Prime, and E. N. Prime (Hastings) 2. Church Choirs, under 25 voices: Sacred Heart (Catholic). Hastings, 1; St. Augustine's (Anglican), Napier. 2. For the open mixed quartette, only Napier vocalists competed.
