Persons between th:' ages of iM and L'G are required to regisler <jr attend a month of parades. The Co vei noi-General may declare exempt persons whose forbid them t.o bear arm . The following are oxcmipt in time 'of war:— Merically unfit, members illu "j o|ji c ors of Parliament, judges, magistrates, police, lightlioiisekeepers, medical men, police or prison employees, persons not substantially of European descent, and men following any occupation r 2 :>ei -' 'ficd by regulation or proclamation. The duration of training each year sL'.dl be as follows: —.Junior cadets. 120 hours; senior cadets, four full day drills, t!L> half-day drills, and 24 night drills; citizen forces, 1(j d.ay drilis, or an equivalent, and nut fewer than S days in camps for continuous training. 1:i the Naval Artii'erv and Engineers and i:i the military forces the training will be L'o v.diole days and 17 days in camp. Sparsely populated districts may "re exempted bv proclamation. it is proposed to empower the Go-vernor-General to establish horse depots, farms, and tat ions for brooding horses. A deputation of Seventh Day Advontis'ts asked the Minister for e-x emption on Saturdays. Tire Minister replied that it w:i s a difiicult question, but he would give it considerat ion.
