INCREASES. IN RAILWAY RETURNS. (By Telegraph.) (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON This Day. In the annual railway report presented to Parliament this afternoon reference is made to- tie Nelson section. The revenue for the vear was £23.359. being an increase of £2248. The passenger traffic ircTDroved slightly., but there were decreases in -chaff, firewood, timber, and gravel. The esiablihment of freezing works was responsible for an improvement in the sheep traffic, and the visits of ocean steamers for the mutton have improved the exports of other produce. The acquisition of the private- wharves has resulted in increased revenue from wharfage cheques.
