INCOME TAX PROSECUTION.
ALLEGED FALSIFICATION OF RETURNS. A CHRISTCHURCH FIRM CHARGED. [United Tress Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. A case brought by the Income Tax Department a'jamst Buwron Bros, and G. J. Smith, M.L.C.. will be hoard at the Magistrate's Court, Christchurch. on March. Ist. There are three informations, charging the firm with (11 Having made a false return in writing in regard to its income. (2) Having delined false returns. (3) Having made a false return affecting the firings liability, by which the firm evaded the full taxation.
The offence is alleged to have been committed on November 6lh, 1906, and (he informations were laid by Mr W. M. Tver?, Wellington. Inspector under tho Income Tax Assessment Act.
