POLICE OLD AGE FUND.
(United Phess Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. This evening a meeting attended by some 30 officers and constables stationed in Wellington was held for the purpose of considering questions iu regard to the police old age fund. A resolution was passed that tho meeting deemed it advisable that police f provident funds should bo merged in the public service superannuation fund on tho conditions set forth in tho amending Bill now before the House. Tho meeting also decided to ask respectfully that the Government would favourably consider the desirableness of embodying in the amendment of the Act now before the House a provision to allow members of the police force tho option of retiring at 55 years of age, if they so desired.
