POLICE COMMISSIONER.
REPLY TO MR ARNOLD, M.P. [United Press AsseciATiON.] WELLINGTON, Friday. In the House of Representatives on Thursday. Mr Arnold, M.P. for Dunedin North, said lie was not concerned about the Commissioner of Polico, for that was settled. He would resign. In reply to this, Mr Dinnie this morning made the following statement to a ".New Zealand Times" reporter: — "Mr Arnold's statement that I intend to resign my position is as devoid of truth as his previous allegation that my son had full pay for six months whilst on leave of absence. The effect and object of such a statement can readily be understood. I have no intention whatsoever of tenVrinjr mv r"«'«-nfttion. "
