SWEET PEA AND CARNATION SHOW. '
The Committee of the Nelson iV>rticultural Society met last evening, when there were present:— Messrs x. W. Hamilton (President); Merrick; A E. Tasker; Blackburn; Wigzell, Bolton; Simpson; Levy; Mesdames Kitching; Levy; and Misses Cook and Fleming. . , An apology was received from Mis Ttl' was resolved io hold the Sweet I Pea and Carnation Show at the Drill Hall on January sth and 6th. The secretary was instructed to communicate with two Wellington residents as to judging the show. Mr E B. Izard wrote on behait oi the Stoke Fruitgrowers' Association in reference to an exhibition of fruit at the Autumn show.— lt was decided to- requeft Mr Izard' to confer with the committee when the schedule for the Autumn show. is under consideration. . . _ The matter of refreshments at the Sweet Pea and Carnation Show was left in the hands of the lady members of the committee. It was decided to add elasses tor pot plants to tho schedule for the forthcoming show. ■ Several special prizes were offered by members. _ It has been decided to allot t!;e National Sweet Pea Society's medal to the best exhibit of sweet peas in show, all classes competing.
