NELSON RUGBY UNION.

A meeting of the . Management Committee of the Nelson Bugby Union was held at Stallard's rooms last evening. Present — Dr Andrew (Chairman), Messrs Smith, Shrimpton, Nalder, Cannington, riiivU-y. Logan, Vercoc, Akcrs Manssen, iiivfl Kitching. A commiinicntiiin was vpce'vsd from t'p.c Coldsn Bay Union stating fliey weic trying to arrange a match to be played hoi-e on Saturday woek. It was decided to arrange the match on that date providing suitable arrangements could bo made. It was decided to abandon the match touring team v. local team, Ret down for Saturday next. j ■ ■ -• I The Buller representative team play Marlborough at Blenheim to-morrow for the Seddon Shield. Witlh such a powerful and fast pack, and first-class backs. Buller should give the holders of the Shield a . really good game. Buller forwards are superior to the Marlborough pack; but whether . the backs are ns Kood_ as Marlborough remains to be proved. WiWi such backs as Church, Manning, Mclntyre, Cortello, and O'Brien. Marlborough will be very hard to beat, and the general opinion h that Bullsr will go under. The Marlborough Rugby Union have made exhaustive inquiries into the alleged misbehaviour of certain members of the representative team' during their visit to Nelson last month, and at its last meeting two members of the senior representative toam came before the Union, and

were severely censured for their reckless conduct while at Nelson. Th« player charged with indecent conduct' by the: Nelson Union -was informed by the Chairman of the Union that tihe evidence taken by the Union had proved Ihe charge groundless, and that he was guilt, less. Owing to his admission that he was not as sober as he might have been 1 the Union censured him, and advised him when he tours- with representative ! teams again to be more careful. The matter of replying to the Nelebn Union was left in the hands of the Chairman and secretary.'.
