ACCIDENT WITH A KEROSENE LAMP.
A TADMOR DOuiI~BURNT DOWN. A five-TOOmed dwelling-house at Tadmor, owned by the Arcadia Company, Limited, and in possession of Mr John Whittaker, was destroyed by fire recently The occupant was packing up his furniture on the night in question for re. moval to Wakapuaka, and was carrying a- kerosene lamp, when he tripped and fell, the kerosene^gmtmg and setting: fire to the place. The flames spread Sd]y that Mr Whittaker was unTble Kve any of his effects A sum of £30 in one of his pockets was lost. The dwelling, which was an old one, was insured \ the South British office for £100, while the furniture, valued at £70, was insured in the Royal office for £60.
