A WARNING TO ORCHARDISTS.
HEAVY FINE AT MOTUEKA.
At; the Magistrate's Court, Motueka, on ftlday. before Mr H. Eyre-Kenny, S.M;, Hugh Williams, charged with neglecting to.control codlin moth, was fined £s.;ivith cosls £1 Bs.
The Magistrate, in giving judgment, said that in previous cases he had intimated that ho would inflict substantial fines. The present was a bad case, as tho defendant, through neglect, allowed diseaso to spread to other orchards, and tliat sort of thing must be stopped. J Mr R. Fell appeared for tho Agricultural Department.
