NEWFOUNDLAND POLITICS.
A CHANGE OF MINISTRY. [Pbess Association.— CopxnianT.] (Received March 5, 8.42 a.m.) ST. JOHNS (N.F.), Thursday. Sir Robert Bond, Promier of Newfoundland, has resigned, and Sir Edward Morris who has an equal number of supporters, has formed a Cabinet, (Sir Edward Morris, the eminent Newfoundland statesman, who was in the Bond Cabinet till July, 1907, as Attorney-General, lea the Opposition in the last general election in November. The result was that each party Jiad an equal number of seats— lß. A recount for the odd constituency was made amid much excitement, when Mr Dam, Minister of Fisheries, was found to have a majority of one vote. Sir Ed. Morris, who is :i barrister, and vet a comparatively young man, lias represented St. John/s in the Newfoundland Hou«> since ISSS. and lie was in Sir William Whiteway's Cabinet in 1889. He has been a frequent delegate to the Colonial Conferences, and he is a recognised party leader^
