Ward to-night:— "The City Council this evening was waited on by a large deputation of unemployed, who handed me a I list of 500 men of all trades out of work. : The City Council has let a large number j of contracts for city work, and has I authorised further works, which have and will absorb tome men. Would you kindly endeavour to absorb the remainder on Government public works. — Arthur Myers,"
