(P&ESS AS3OCIAIIOK. - LONDON, Saturday. - • A voluntary guard of honour accompanied the Catholic procession of the Sacrament, numbering 12,000. Many small windows wero let at 10 cuineas. Eieht hundred police were on duty. After two days' telegraphic negotiations between Mr Asquith and Dr Bourne. Archbishop of .Westminster, ' the Premier deprecating the procession - and Archbishop Bourne requiring Mr Asauith-"to make a public request for its abandonment, the Premier intimated that in the better interests of order and eood feeling the ceremonial, of whicli ho questioned the legality, should not take place. .••,_, _/l _ Archbishop Bourne then decided that all ecclesiastical ceremonies should be eliminated from the .procession. ' The Cardinals and Bishops will proceed to the Cathedral along the proposed route, in full .court . dress but -tho ceremonial procession will be held - withine the Cathedra and the lo- - Ste'. benediction will be bestowed from- the balcony of the Cathedral.
