Ward) and recommends that the third I schedule of the Banking Act be amended--(A) by repealingthercfe.-F.iice to j the Prince of Wales' Birthday, and substituting therefor Em- : pire Day, which is the 3rd of 1 June. The 26th September (Dominion Day) is added to the clause. There is a provision in , the Bill that Bank holidays falli ing on a day other than a Monday shall be observed as a close t bank holiday on the following 1 Monday. If the said following Monday is also a Bank holiday t within the meaning of the Act then the next following day which is not a bank holiday shall J also be observed as a bank holi--1 day. Under the Act a new clause is added i making the following Monday principle apply in regard to the King's Birthday, 1 Dominion Day, and the Prince of Wales' Birthday, provided for in awards or in- > dustrial agreements.
