RIFLE SHOOTING.

Tho Waimea South Rifle Club held the final competition for Mr F. N. Jonos' Lrophj- on Saturday, over ranges 200, 500 uid 7CO yards; 7 shots at, each range. This competition proved to be one of the most interesting held this sea£on. Kiflemen J. W. Ching and T. Newth (who received a handicap of 12 points), tied for ■ first place with scores of 95 each. In iha "shoot-off" (5 shots at 700 yards), the ex-champiou won with a small marjfin of 4 points. The scores are as follows : —
