DEATH AFTER FOOTBALL.
A HOPE FATALITY. A boy named Sydney Thomas Bird, f>. vears of age, a son of Mr Thomas Bird, of Hope, died on Saturday from neute peritonitis. Tho boy while playing football at school a few days beforo waa accidontallv kicked. P*ritonit.is sot in, anrt proved fatal, the little fellow passing away on Saturday. An inquest was held yesterday afternoon beforo Mr William' Coleman, J.P., Acting-Coroner, and the following jury : Messrs S. W. Tebay (foreman), Hugh Homer, W. J). Schroder, Fred Schroder. H. R. I^ck, and E. Eden. Aft-Ar hearing the evidence rf deceased's faflr.T, Pr Orfurd, and tome school 1 hilclren. tlio jury returned a ver-d::'-l "That death resulted from jieittonitis, caused by receiving an ;i'ciden- _•>!
