CAN WITHDRAWAL BE COMPULSORY ? A TEST IN THE WAIRAU. [United Phess Association.] BLENHEIM, Thursday. At a meeting of the Lower Wairau River Board last night the Chairman again asked the reporters to withdraw, which they had refused to do at the 'ast meeting, to enable the Board to go into Committe to consider certain matters, the nature of which was never indicated. One reporter again declined to retire, whereupon the Chairman read opinions from Mr Guinness, Speakc/of the House, and Mr Bristed, editor of the "Weekly Press," which held that reporters must retire upon the Board going into Committee, if requested to do so. The "Express" reporter still refused to leave, whereupon it was resoJved that the matter be dealt with by a committee, and the Board rose.
